Shivendra is a biophysical chemist with extensive research experience in soft materials and compartmentalization of biochemical processes. He joined the ACROPATH team as a postdoctoral researcher in May 2025 and is currently working with Prof. Paul Beales on the design and modification of artificial cell membranes for the sensitive and robust diagnosis of pathogenic infections.
Shivendra obtained his Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Mandi in 2018. During his Master’s, he worked with Prof. Chayan Kanti Nandi to gain mechanistic insights into the optical properties of carbon dots. He was subsequently awarded the prestigious Prime Minister’s Research Fellowship in 2020 to pursue his PhD at IIT Indore under the supervision of Prof. Tushar Kanti Mukherjee. His doctoral research focused on biomimetic artificial cells, particularly exploring how molecular compartmentalization in nanoparticle-embedded hybrid coacervates modulates their biomimetic properties.
